How to fix or install an April Eleven music box?
Many of you ask me for advice on installing your music box or light fixture.
It's super simple and allows you to securely attach your wooden sconces and music boxes.
Our tips and tricks for fixing our music boxes to the wall.
How to install April Eleven music boxes?
First you need to choose the wall and the location. Near the bed or the changing table is up to you. Depending on your wall you will first need to install a dowel in the wall and then a screw. It is the head of the screw that is the most important in this installation. Therefore, installing a wooden April Eleven music box using a nail is strongly discouraged.
Once the screw is installed on the wall, you must screw it into the wall almost as far as it will go. The fixing system provided on our music box models must act as a lever on the head of the screw.
The screw is now well inserted into its dowel, you can slide your music box into it. It should not turn on itself and should even be forced in a little to be correctly fixed.
Your child should be able to pull the string without the wooden music box moving. If this is not the case, the screw is not tight enough.
To optimally fix a wall music box you must choose the wall:
To begin, you need to know the nature of your wall. (placo, plaster, concrete block, solid wall, etc.) You will need to choose a dowel suitable for this wall. A salesperson in a DIY store will help you make this choice.
Once the location is defined you can drill and place the dowel in the wall. Then fix a screw.
THE MOST IMPORTANT is to aim the screw almost to the end. In fact, the screw should barely protrude so that your support slides onto the screw. To install the music box on the screw, you must brush the wall with the wooden support and slide the screw into the notch. If the screw is sufficiently aimed into the wall, your music box should not turn and will act as a lever on the wall.
Here are some pictures to illustrate my point.
You can see that the music box is firmly attached to the wall, it is impossible for a child to unhook it. To remove it from the wall you must slide upwards and then bring the music box towards you.
Thus fixed the product cannot turn on itself, it is correctly installed.

Fixing our lamps
For wall lights, we advise you to choose the location carefully. Our cords measure 1.50cm. Do not fix a wooden wall light less than 2m from a water area (tap, bath, shower, etc.)
Be careful with the bulbs you use.
We recommend a low-energy bulb with an E14 socket. To ensure maximum safety, never leave a wall light on all night or all day.
Abnormally prolonged use may impair proper use.
Our wall lights diffuse a beautiful soft light that soothes children in their room. You can install our lamps near your child's desk when he is older. The light will help him concentrate when it is time for homework.
Connecting a light fixture to your electrical system
Our wall lights are real wall lights, you can of course connect them to your wall electrical installation. To do this, simply cut the electrical cord and connect the wires using a terminal block. Do not hesitate to call an electrician to do this assembly safely.
April Eleven Mirror Installation
The fixing system is the same on most of our mirrors. An ergonomic slot allows them to be installed easily and quickly. All it takes is a screw in the wall so that your wooden mirror is fixed flat on the wall. This way, only an adult will be able to remove the mirror from the wall.
If your mirror is well fixed it will be perfectly flat on the wall. You can of course install your wooden mirrors in a bathroom. Remember that our oak plywood is not treated, not varnished, so it is allergic to water :)
