Tutorials & tips for installing and enjoying your April Eleven products

The plexiglass of my night light is completely scratched, what should I do?

When you receive your night light, don't forget to remove the two protective films from the plexiglass before using it. You will find a kraft-colored film on one side and a transparent film on the other . Yes, look carefully!

These protectors prevent scratches during transport and allow the light to diffuse fully once removed. Then enjoy your night light for a soft and soothing atmosphere!

How to clean the baby wooden brush?

Cleaning your baby's brush is an important step in caring for and maintaining your child's hair. A clean brush is essential to prevent the spread of bacteria and microorganisms that can cause scalp irritation and infections.

Here are some tips for properly cleaning your baby's brush:

First, start by removing any hair that is stuck in the bristles of the brush. Next, mix together one teaspoon of oil-based soap, one cup of water, and a few drops of essential oil of your choice.

Use a clean brush to mix the solution and dip your baby's brush. Once the brush is completely submerged, swirl it 3/4 times in the water and then rinse it with clean water. Gently pat the brush dry with a towel.

Allow your baby brush to dry completely before storing.

How to install April Eleven music boxes?

First you need to choose the wall and the location. Near the bed or the changing table is up to you. Depending on your wall you will first need to install a dowel in the wall and then a screw. It is the head of the screw that is the most important in this installation. Therefore, installing a wooden April Eleven music box using a nail is strongly discouraged .

Once the screw is installed on the wall , you must aim it almost to the maximum . The fixing system provided on our models of music boxes must act as a lever on the head of the screw.

The screw is now well inserted into its dowel , you can slide your music box into it. It should not turn on itself and should even be forced in a little to be correctly fixed.

Your child should be able to pull the string without the wooden music box moving . If this is not the case, the screw is not tight enough.

Here's how to optimally fix our wooden mirrors:

To begin, you need to know the nature of your wall. (placo, plaster, concrete block, solid wall, etc.) You will need to choose a dowel suitable for this wall. A salesperson in a DIY store will help you make this choice.

Once the location is defined you can drill and place the dowel in the wall. Then fix a screw.

THE MOST IMPORTANT is to aim the screw almost all the way. In fact, the screw should barely protrude so that your support slides onto the screw. To install the mirror on the screw, you must graze the wall and slide the screw into the notch. If the screw is sufficiently screwed into the wall, your music box should not turn and will lever on the wall.

Here is a video to illustrate our point.

My story

Charline

A little bit about me here, since I have been alone at the helm of April Eleven for almost 15 years! I wanted to create a brand of mixed, timeless and sustainable wooden objects.

Passion for wood

Charline inherited her love of wood from her parents: a cabinetmaker father and an antique dealer mother. This dual family influence gave her a passion for craftsmanship and respect for noble materials, which she now incorporates into each of her creations.

April Eleven is a brand of wooden decorative objects , indoor baby swing for the home and children's rooms. Charline, the creator, finds her inspiration in Scandinavian decoration and in the various flea markets that she browses during her free time in search of vintage objects.
