Walls that send wood!
For once, we're going to talk today about... WOOD ! We can indeed talk about obsession ... but I never get tired of it. So much so that this time I'm going to talk to you about wall coverings . My current addiction is " plywood " or plywood in French, a little less fun,)
For decoration fans , there is nothing spectacular about covering your walls with wood, but the effect is still just as attractive. An inspiration as I like them in natural and soft tones , this wood with more or less marked grain, easy to install, which gives a "wow" effect at first glance and which remains accessible to small budgets .
What appeals to me most about this idea is that it gives a resolutely modern and contemporary look to your interior , while being warm! Which is not an obvious association when you know that contemporary and warmth do not always go together, so I hope to finish convincing you with this umpteenth argument...
Here we realize that wood offers multiple possibilities to create storage without weighing down the space. Don't make a mistake, we don't add handles... A simple drilling to stay in the refined and contemporary effect that we are looking for.
Some will be more reluctant to use wood in a kitchen ... Indeed wood and water/grease, do not mix well. But there are now very good varnishes, which will protect this fragile material, while keeping the natural appearance of the matt wood that you have chosen.
" Rotterdam " project
Big crush for the work of this artist DRIES OTTEN , an artist who uses often "modest" or "cheap" materials like paint, medium, hardboard, plywood... But always with taste, his niche is to revitalize somewhat old-fashioned interiors without breaking everything.
Unlike interior designers who swear by very expensive materials.
In this space, which we imagine to be parental, the entire back wall is covered in plywood , it also brings a light wallpaper appearance... and allows you to create a discreet office/storage space without weighing down the room.
The paint on the doors is a beautiful combination. The choice of colors in peach tones are very well chosen.
The Belgian designers at Van Staeyen Interieur have transformed the attic of a home. No wasted space, and wood is still used, as is the case for the cupboards. This mix of wood and white is a great idea, just a quick coat of paint with a roller for a guaranteed effect!
As with wood, all fantasies are possible ... Do not hesitate to imagine pretty spaces for your children. Here is a very nice idea of a mezzanine bed, with a real staircase to access the top bed. We can imagine the many storage spaces that each step offers.
