In Romie's room
We waited for our Romie , almost 9 months to the day... So we had time to perfect her room, even if it's not really what I had in mind, it forms a joyful mess that she likes, I think.
The fairy lights come from HEMA , it's our daughter's night light, we turn it on every night. Soft and diffuse light, perfect for falling asleep peacefully.
On the back of the room, we put up wallpaper bought in Sweden, white background with dotted lines, school notebook effect. It is sober and mixed, just super beautiful, everyone thinks we tiled the wall of their room.
I made a crown with an embroidery hoop and dried eucalyptus leaves. Our wooden Eskimo mirror naturally found its place.
Here is the first soft toy I bought for him. I fell in love with this young French brand. Atelier Angus , created from "imaginary bestiary" as its creator defines it. In short, pretty soft toys, a bit sulky, arms crossed, long legs, closed eyes.
Rather decorative, because a little hard to put them in the hands of our babies.
Each character is hand painted with water-based textile paint, machine washable on a delicate cycle at 40°. The pretty fabrics worn are made of cotton, and the faces are made of linen & cotton. They are filled with anti-mite and anti-allergic polyester wadding.
Each model is unique. In short, you understand, I could talk about it for a long time...
To continue with the handmade, a piece of furniture that is particularly close to my heart. It is a gift from my dad, for Romie. A sideboard, as I had designed it, with a large drawer to store all her stuff... and shelves for her toys.
The changing table part is removable, so that this piece of furniture can be used in another room later.
The corners are beveled, the edge of this plywood forms pretty stripes, the white lacquered drawer is perforated. An essential piece in the decoration of Romie's room.
The little Zara dress that was given to us. I love it, the simple print, the little girly frills and the matching bloomers underneath.
We had made our birth list on milirose which allowed us to choose what we wanted.
We fell in love with this sublime blanket from La Méricaine , made from wool. La Méricaine capes are incredible for wrapping yourself up in... Snuggling up in...
The famous sleeping bag that every good mother must have for her child. So we fell for this one made by Arsène et les pipelettes , a brand from the Basque country for children, which I love madly.
A sea print with characters playing in the waves, and inside a soft pattern in pinkish beige tones. The model is reversible.
The model comes in two sizes. Right now you have the winter version, printed with retro sports patterns in soft fleece.
In Romie's wardrobe, we also find small, light dresses, which are almost part of the decor... This one is a small boat model, very light and flowery, which I like a lot.
The little pink bodysuit with the surfers, you saw it!!! rooooooo it's so cute!
Surf, Love and Rock n Roll come together in the British brand Love & Honor . The brand is inspired by their family life on the Atlantic coast, surfing and dad's job as a touring musician.
Love & Honor clothing is made in a small family-run factory in Europe, using certified organic fabrics.
I made a garland of wooden balls to hang some clothes. I hope that when he grows up he will enjoy choosing his clothes.
We always treat ourselves a little when we decorate our children's room... we have to admit it,)
I would have dreamed of wearing this kind of crown when I was little, so I cracked and put this one, made of wool pompoms, on its little string shelf. Meri meri is a children's brand that I am absolutely a fan of. We were recently given the unicorn, my god it is pretty.
Here is THE first gift bought for Romie, at the Playtime show last January. Chance does things well, as they say! My neighbor at the stand is the publisher, Pioro edition , of this pretty book on the seasons.
The drawings are sublime, the illustrator Carly Gledhill , traces the seasons and helps little ones discover the subtleties of these four periods of the year.
Some other pieces that make up Romie's room. This vintage Fisher Price record player that everyone has known... sold at Fnac here . We often take it into the garden to listen to music.
The super long and super perfect knitted pennant garland from meri meri ordered from Plumeti , I told you I love this brand :)
I chose this changing bag, Lässig , for its ultra compact and complete side. There is plenty of storage. Inside, there is a changing mat, a pencil case, a removable insulated bottle holder. It can be carried by hand, on the shoulder or as a backpack. Ideal for weekends, it is semi-rigid to store a lot of things, in an orderly way.
The cute little Micocola slippers are sold in the Loulou in the woods boutique in Hossegor.
In his bed, I wanted some color. The mustard yellow bed bumper comes from nobodinoz .
The duvet cover is printed on both sides. It comes from Laredoute , and the fitted sheet that I love with these little lemons, from 3 Suisses .
And you have certainly spotted her? This sublime seagull and this ring with the little whale are handmade and with a lot of love by Emilie. The link to her Instagram account is here . You can order, I'm just saying,)
At the maternity ward, they didn't leave Romie's crib and I can tell you that the nursing assistants were jealous...
